Stanley Hawkins

Mt. Pleasant, Indiana Stanley R. Hawkins, 88, passed away Thursday, March 14, 2013 at St. Mary's Medical Center. He was born October 11, 1924 in Perry County son of the late Heilman and Frances "Fannie" (Esarey) Hawkins. He was also preceded in death by a sister Betty Hawkins. A U.S. Army veteran, he served in WWII. Stanley retired as a general foreman after working for Industrial Contractors for many years. He also built numerous homes in the area. Stanley enjoyed working on the farm, playing euchre and spending time visiting with family and friends. He is survived by a daughter, Cheryl Lycan (Joe), Williamson, West Virginia; son, Jeffrey Hawkins (Brittany) Hawkins, Bowling Green, Kentucky; sister, Ada Nicholson, Brookeville, Indiana; 4 grandchildren, Daniel Lycan, Bailey, Brynn and Dane Hawkins. Funeral services will be 1:00 PM Monday, March 18, 2013 at Huber Funeral Home, Tell City Chapel with burial in Old Chapel Cemetery near Mount Pleasant, where there will be military graveside rites. Joe Lycan will officiate. Visitation will be from 3:00 until 8:00 PM Sunday and from 11:00 AM until service time on Monday. Memorial contributions may be made to your favorite charity.
