Steve Reed

Stephen A. Reed, 65, passed away on October 21, 2026, at Deaconess Gateway Hospital in Newburgh.

Steve was born on November 16, 1960, to Raymond and Jane (Beard) Reed. He graduated from Tell City High School in 1979 and was currently working at Cleveland Cliffs, formerly AK Steel. He was a member of UAW Local 3044 and St. Michael Catholic Church.

Steve enjoyed almost anything with an engine and had a knack for fixing whatever was broken. He took pride in sharing his mechanical skills with others.

He enjoyed riding Harleys, fishing, skiing and camping on the river. He loved hosting catfish fries for family and friends and baking apple pies, which he was known for sharing with his co-workers.

Steve found peace in long walks in the woods, where he gathered and stacked rocks. He loved animals and his family and was devoted to his parents.

Steve is survived by his children, Dreama Reed (Dean Bozarth) and Stephen “Darrin” Reed; his parents, Ray and Jane Reed; and his sister, Katherine Cottingham (Jerry).

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 AM CST on Saturday, October 24, 2026, at St. Michael Catholic Church. Rev. Stephen Donahue will officiate. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery.

Visitation will be held on Friday from 3:00-7:00 PM CST at Huber Funeral Home, Tell City Chapel. A praying of the Rosary will be said at 7:00 PM. There will not be visitation prior to Mass on Saturday.
