Thomas Lee “Tommy” Lasher, 81, passed away on August 4, 2026, in North Vernon, Indiana.
He was born in Jeffersonville on June 20, 1945, the son of J. Kern and Ruth L. (Hollander) Lasher.
Known to many of his friends as “Tom Tom”, he looked forward to family visits where he could indulge on some of his favorite foods; hamburgers, potato salad and watermelon. Let’s certainly not forget Tommy’s sweet tooth for Coke and Hershey Bars.
Tommy enjoyed the simple things in life such as fishing, listening to music, collecting watches and phone calls with his sister, Roxanne.
He was an avid fan of IU basketball and the Indianapolis Colts. Tommy loved the Lord and would always have a picture of Jesus in his room.
The family would like to thank ResCare and Hospice of North Vernon for the amazing care they showed Tommy and making him feel like family.
Surviving is his sister, Roxanne Simpson (Greg); nephews, John Smitson (Robin), Zach Simpson (Alyssa), Ryan Taylor (Jordin), Brandon Taylor (Jessica), Greg Merritt (Veronica), Tim Lasher (Joan) and Jeff Lasher (Suzanne); nieces, Brianna Bruggeman (Matt), Kim Jackson, Kathy Poole (Darren) and many great nieces, nephews and cousins; sister-in-law, Carol Lasher; and a stepsister, Ginny Cope.

Funeral services will be held at 12:00 PM CDT on Friday, August 7, 2026, at Huber Funeral Home, Tell City Chapel. Tommy’s nephew, John Smitson will officiate. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery.
Visitation will be held on Friday from 10:00 AM until service time at the funeral home.
