Tony Salamone

Anthony J. “Tony” Salamone, Jr., 78, passed away unexpectedly on July 11, 2025, at his home in Cannelton with his wife at his side.

Tony was born in Riverhead, New York, the son of Anthony J., Sr. and Alice (Lescenski) Salamone.

He served his country in the United States Navy and retired from UA Local #136 where he worked as a pipefitter and a welder. You could usually find Tony in his back yard grilling or smoking meat for his family and tending to his garden. He loved being at home and took pride in his yard. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, woodworking and riding motorcycles.

Surviving him is his wife, Caroline (Whittaker) Salamone; children, Melanie Salamone (Jason Colburn), Antonia Webster and Stephen Salamone; grandchildren, Rebekah, Isabella and Sarah Sander, Chas and Mason Webster and Alyssa Salamone Martin and stepdaughter, Amanda Whittaker. His parents and his brother, Thomas Salamone preceded him in death.

Huber Funeral Home, Cannelton Chapel, is assisting Tony’s family with his request to be cremated. There will be no scheduled services.
