Vernon Ray Russelburg, 80, passed away on May 31, 2025, at Brickyard Healthcare in Tell City.
He was born in Corydon, Kentucky on October 3, 1944, to Bennie “B.C.” and Mary (Shelton) Russelburg.
Vernon was a 1963 graduate of Immaculate Conception High School in Hawesville, Kentucky and was a veteran of the United States Army. He had worked at Aleris for 34 years, retiring in 2005. Vernon raised feeder steers and cattle. You could usually find him on “Russelburg Farm” at his home in Cannelton.
Vernon enjoyed listening to old country music, watching John Wayne movies and ME T.V. and loved his “granddogs”, Madie and Oreo.
He is survived by his children, Rita Russelburg and Mary Dauby (Rob); brother, Jody Russelburg; a sister, Mary Gail Boling; brother-in-law, Donnie Adcox and sister-in-law, Jo Jo Russelburg.
Preceding him in death were his parents; his wife, Marella (Basinger) Russelburg, in 2018; a sister, Joyce Adcox and brothers, Jerry, James and Glen Russelburg.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM CDT on Wednesday, June 4, 2025, at Huber Funeral Home, Tell City Chapel. Timmy Moxley and Josh Noble will officiate. Burial will follow in Mount Calvary Cemetery in Hawesville. Visitation will be from 3:00 until 7:00 PM on Tuesday and from 9:00 AM until service time on Wednesday.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
