Zachary Nolan Taylor, 32, lost his battle with cancer on December 4, 2025, at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, TN.
Born to John and Laura (Paulin) Taylor on June 25, 1993, Zach graduated from Tell City High School in 2012. He attended Vincennes University where he obtained his bachelor’s degree.
Zach was working as a Correctional Sergeant at the Perry County Sheriff’s Department. He always had a love for serving others, which led him to become a dispatcher and reserve police officer for the Tell City Police Department. He was a member of Perry County Fire-Rescue and Anderson Township Volunteer Fire Department where he was trained in Firefighter 1 & 2 and was an Emergency Medical Responder.
Zach married on October 5, 2024, to Jennifer Trujillo. Together, they enjoyed traveling and shared a love for soccer. He also liked to get together with his buddies to shoot guns at the firing range.
He was a member of St. Marks Catholic Church and Perry County F.O.P
Surviving is his wife, Jennifer Taylor; parents, John and Laura Taylor; aunts and uncles, Dennis Taylor (Edna), Louann Oberhausen, Dan Paulin (Karen) and Lynn Varble (Dale) and cousins, Deni Burke (Jake), Josh Taylor (Brooke), Ryan Oberhausen (Bridget), Ross Oberhausen (Lita), Sarah Meredith (Jason), Corey Botsford (A.J.), Kyle Varble (Dylan Suehiro) and Kara Fortwendel (Corey).
Preceding him in death were his grandparents, Joseph E. and Margie Schwartz Taylor and Bernard and Bo (Fischer) Paulin and uncles, Sam Oberhausen and Kenny “Bubba” Taylor.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM CST on Wednesday, December 10, 2025, at Huber Funeral Home, Tell City Chapel. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 2:00-7:00 PM and Wednesday from 9:00-11:00 AM.
In lieu of flowers, the family wishes that donations be made to Anderson Township Volunteer Fire Department or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
